Hobbycraft updating digital platforms

First seminar - BIG DATA! Chosen company to analyse the concept of big data - Hobbycraft! Well I need to keep it within the crafting sector to fulfill my interests and become engaged with the subject! I started to search for smartphone platforms to see if it did exist and how they may use this new platform compared to the website. Humblepixel illustrated the Hobbycraft mobile platform, demonstrating how Hobbycraft have bridged the gap between the online experience and store visits with a mobile concept on the basis of insight gathered from analytics data. The mobile platform allows customers to view store information , such as location and opening times and also lets the customers create shopping lists which can aid their next visit to the store.

In terms of the craft and hobby industry, many retailers soon found it necessary to initiate mobile marketing, mobile commerce and managing their mobile reputation. A company called ArtFire doubled their sales in a day when they optimised their checkout for mobile devices. This doesn't just end for the likes of the iphone for example, more mobile devices such as ipads need an app or be optimised for customers to be able to view your products and buy them with one simple tap of the app. Firms will begin to lose customers who are not ready for the digital age and if they become dissatisfied with your service they can post about it on facebook or tweet their dislike of your brand affecting your online reputation and you will begin to fall behind. Don't let that happen. More info check out CHA blog.

The use of big data can make a big impact on the firm and companies will need to spot these opportunities to breakthrough into these new markets and keep people engaged. If they can buy from you from any platform, you are more likely to make a sell. Think of the additional benefits to the firm as well, use social media and track customer's opinions and effectively use customer service tools to act on what customers are saying about your brand and find out how they are shopping for your products.
